GiftStasher is an integrated suite of services developed to provide a fun and easy way for you to stash and organize great gift ideas for your friends and family.  Imagine, no more last minute gift shopping! Use GiftStasher to Stash great gift ideas into registries for friends and family when you shop from any store on the web. You'll always have that perfect gift idea ready for Christmas, Birthdays, Anniversaries, and many more gift giving occasions.

You can even use GiftStasher for your own wish lists. If you have a birthday coming up, share your registry with friends and family and help them get gift ideas for you. It's great for your kids too!

There are many features to enjoy at GiftStasher, in addition to Universal Gift Registries, you may use your personal Calendar, Fave Stores bookmarking center, Profile - to help others find presents for you, and you can even link to friends who are also GiftStashers.  All for FREE!

We're easy to use and completely FREE. Not only can you create many universal gift registries for all your friends and family members, we also offer a personal calendar with reminder service and quick and easy access to your favorite shopping destinations. You choose your favorite stores, we keep then neat and organized for you. No more messy bookmarks! You can even access your list of favorite stores with the click of our toolbar button.

GiftStasher also offers you a fun way to help friends and family find great gift ideas for you too! You can share registries you create for yourself and you can offer information about hobbies, favorite stores, and favorite brands. Share your public profile with friends and family and make gift giving easy on them!

As you shop on the web you are bound to come across gift ideas for people long before their birthday or Christmas. At GiftStasher, you stash those great gift ideas into registries you create for friends and family. The web address, item name, price, and picture are saved for you to retrieve later. You can even leave yourself a note if there is something important like the end of a sale date.

After you sign in to your account, you'll be brought to a page where you can begin creating registries. It's very easy. You'll see a short form where you can name your registry – usually this will be the name of a friend or family member, but you can also stash for occasions like anniversaries, Christmas, housewarming parties, or whatever. Write a short description for the registry and you choose whether or not to share the registry. Sharing a registry makes it viewable by people you invite to visit your Profile.

That's all there is too it! Click on the link "Create a New Registry" to create another. You can create as many registries as you need.

Once you have created a couple of registries, installed the GiftStasher Toolbar, and started stashing great gift ideas into registries, you might want to move items from one registry to another, share registries with friends & family, or edit the information in the registry.

Move items between registries: A great organization trick is to stash away gift ideas into a generic registry – if you come across something cool, stash it away and figure out who the lucky recipient is later. To move gift ideas from one registry to another, click on the registry name, check the “move” box next to the item, then choose the destination registry from the pull down menu at the bottom of your list of gift ideas.

Share a registry: You can keep completely private registries and registries you share with friends. Click on edit attributes link beneath a registry name, check the “shared” box, and click save. This action makes that registry visible under your Profile. Your Profile is available to friends with whom you have shared your login and a guest password.

Edit items in your registries: Has the price changed? Want to add or change a note you’ve made to yourself? Click on the little blue pencil next to the item in your registry and edit the item name, price, and your notes.

Once you have your registries created, you will need to stash those great gift ideas into a registry! This is simple and convenient using the Stash It button on the GiftStasher toolbar. How does it work? The GiftStasher toolbar has two buttons: Stash It and Fave Stores.

Stash It : When you click on the Stash It button, the toolbar collects the web site address, product name, price, and picture from the web page you are viewing. (you need to be viewing a product page )The toolbar shows you that information along with the names of your registries. You choose to save the gift idea in a particular registry and, before saving, the toolbar verifies your username and password at GiftStasher and adds the product to the registry of your choice.

Fave Stores: After verifying your username and password at GiftStasher, the Fave Stores button brings you directly to your Fave Stores page.

There is no spyware, adware, or malware associated with the GiftStasher Toolbar.

Lets get you started using the Stash It button.

You'll need to download and install the GiftStasher Toolbar. Each time you create a new registry you'll see a link to the Toolbar page and you can find a link to the Toolbar page on the right hand side of the pages in your account. When you visit the Toolbar page you'll see the link to download the Toolbar. The process is pretty self explanatory, simply click on the "Add to Firefox" or "Add to Internet Explorer" button and follow the browser directions to approve the installation.

Browsers are pretty careful about providing warnings and alerts. This is for your safety and we would not attempt to hide those warnings and alerts. You can feel comfortable approving the installation of the GiftStasher Toolbar and you can uninstall it at any time. We provide directions to install and uninstall the Toolbar under the help section on www.GiftStasher.com.

The Calendar is another one of the under-appreciated features here at GiftStasher. The Calendar is “perpetual”, meaning you put in an important date, like your anniversary or a friend's birthday, and the calendar will remember that date year after year. Set a reminder and the calendar will make sure you remember the date too. If reminders are set, you’ll receive a short email notifying you of the impending event and you can set the frequency – or infrequency – of those emails. Use the calendar for one time events - helpful for remembering wedding dates, baby showers, housewarming parties, and graduations – and still set reminders. Just remember to set those reminders to notify you in plenty of time to get the gift!

So, get those important dates into your Calendar. You’ve got all those great gift ideas stashed away in your registries just waiting for that special occasion , it would be a shame to miss the date and, more importantly, miss the opportunity to give one of those great gift ideas you labored so hard to find.

Fave Stores is one of our most under-appreciated features. Fave Stores is a linked list of only the stores where you like to shop. Just think, no more messy browser bookmarks! Your Fave Stores are accessible from your GiftStasher account and by clicking on the Fave Stores button on the GiftStasher Toolbar. You’re only one click away from an organized bookmarking center with search engine capability and great coupons & deals.

Add Stores to your Fave Stores: From your Fave Stores tab, click on the link << Choose Fave Stores Here >> and browse over 1100 stores to find your Faves; you can browse by name or by category. When you find a Fave Store, check the “Add to Fave Stores” box and that store will be saved and available in your Fave Stores bookmarking center.

Find old Fave's or discover new ones!  It’s fun to find those great stores you didn’t know existed isn’t it? You can find them by chance or browse the over 1100 stores at GiftStasher. You’ll find them arranged alphabetically and by category. Each store can be added to your Fave Stores area by clicking on the check box “Add to Fave Stores”. If it’s already in your Fave Stores, you’ll see a little red heart indicator. A quick mouse-over on the logo shows you a short description of the store and the StashCash Rewards* symbol lets you know this is a participating store.

As a member, you can request that we add a store to the merchant line up so you can add it to your Fave Stores.

Stores, Stores, & only Stores!

Are we happy to have Search It! up on the site? You betcha. The GiftStasher Search It! search engine is powered by Google, but is ironically the antithesis of Google whose claim to fame is presenting valid and pertinent content. We think all that pertinent content gets in the way of good ole fashion shoppin’ so we configured a Google search engine to search only online stores.

Search It! searches for your gift ideas across 1100 + stores. No content providers, no spammy web sites, no suspicious merchants. Just straight to the source shopping. Each store is approved by GiftStasher and, as a member, you can request that we add a store or request that we remove one.

We took that concept one step further and created Search Faves! which searches for items from only your favorite stores. Search Faves! is also powered by Google, so you know you're getting the best results . Add more Fave Stores to broaden your search and uncheck stores to exclude from searches. You are in control of your search results with Search Faves!

Your Profile - by invitation only.  Like most members, you probably use GiftStasher to keep great gift ideas stashed away in neat little registries for all those people you love to buy for. What you might not realize is GiftStasher is an excellent way to provide gift ideas to those people you love so they can buy for you.

This is accomplished through your Profile. Now, no one likes to feel greedy, and showing your friends & family a ton of cool gift ideas they can buy for you might, well, feel greedy. So we’ve provided a few extra features to overcome that particular problem. Adding a little extra information before inviting people to view your Profile turns the tables and instead of feeling greedy, you feel helpful - because you are being helpful. And who doesn’t want to be helpful, right?

In your Profile, guests can see Registries you've checked as shared and they can also your Fave Stores, completed Style Files, a personalized message from you, your Guestbook, and your GiftStasher friends. Very unassuming, right?! You probably have a wide circle of friends with a lot of friends in common, so share Registries you’ve created for mutual friends and now you’re being really helpful. If one of your friends in on GiftStasher, you can link to each other’s profile and double up on the Registry sharing.

Getting the picture? Gift shopping can, and should, be as fun and social as gift giving. There's nothing greedy about it.

Your Profile is viewable by invitation only. Provide your friends with your username (the email address you use to login into your account) and a guest password. They can login from our home page or directly from here: http://www.giftstasher.com/Friends/

There are several fun and easy questionnaires available to fill out, all part of the Style Files section in your account. They cover everything from personal style, hobbies & sports, pets, kids, reading, music, gaming, and TV. The Style Files are published to your shared profile. Your style profile will help those who insist on surprising you choose a gift that suits your interests and likes. Style Files help to ensure the real surprise is getting something you love!

Style files are a nifty way to provide gift idea inspiration to friends and family.  Style Files help you share a little more about you and what you like. You don’t need to divulge any family secrets here, we’re just talking about favorite authors & books, hobbies, sports, and maybe a few decorating clues to help others know what to get you when they are searching for gift ideas.

There are over 52 Style Files available, but you only have to fill out the ones that will be helpful to your friends and family when trying to find inspiration for gift ideas. If you have a hobby, fill out the hobby style file; if you would love to get the latest book by your favorite author, fill out the books style file; if you have a relative that always gets you those nice sweater vests, fill out the personal style file to give them a few alternatives.

Style Files are visible in your Profile and are perfect for those folks who cannot bring themselves to purchase something from your registry – you know the type, they simply have to “surprise” you - they can sneak a peek at your style files for ideas they can call their own.

No. Your calendar, reminders, address book, and non-shared Registries you've deemed private are completely off limits to guests coming to your shared profile. Completed Style Files, shared Registries, Favorite Stores, and your guestbook are viewable by visitors with whom you have shared your GiftStasher ID and guest password and people you've accepted as friends on GiftStasher.

The guestbook is where your friends and family can leave you messages; these messages appear on the shared view of your profile. Although you cannot edit a message, you can delete it.

You can upload a photo and create a welcome message to personalize the shared view of your profile.

A friendship is a relationship between two members here at GiftStasher. Once a friendship has been established, you can visit each other's stash without a username or password. The friends feature is particularly useful at Christmas time. These days families live in different cities, states, and in some cases countries and coordinating gift giving can be a challenge. If you and your family are members at GiftStasher, you can share your registries and gift ideas with each other. You can see what they have stashed for Mom & Dad, they can see what you have stashed for Uncle Bob and Aunt Betty, you can all log in and see what the nieces and nephews want, in short – you’re all shopping and planning together. How fun is that?!

Finding and adding friends is a snap. In the friends area, enter your friend’s email address and click search. If the person is a member at GiftStasher, we’ll find them and present you with a link to request a friendship. Once they accept your invitation a link to your Profile will appear in their friends area and a link to their Profile will appear in your friends area. You can, then, click back and forth to see each other’s stash.

Search for your friends by their email address in the Friend's section. If your friend is a GiftStasher member, you can request a "friendship". Your friend will have to accept the request, but once a friendship has been established, you can visit each other's shared profiles anytime you're logged in to GiftStasher.

You'll find a link to friend's profiles in the Friends area of your account. If you don't find your friends on GiftStasher, invite them to join! We provide a convenient way to invite people in the Friend's section.

An address book is a private tool in your account used to store all your friend's and family's email addresses. It's helpful to have those handy when you want to share and announce a registry you've created for yourself. You can even associate different Registries with different email addresses for more control.

Your address book is so private, even we don't use it—and that's a promise.

We can try to think of every possible way of clearly describing all the features here at GiftStasher, but the reality is we’ll never know what’s going to make you go “huh?”. If and when you do have a “huh?” moment, there is actually someone on the other end of that “Chat Now” link and that someone isn’t some outsourced help-desk temp on the other side of the world – it really is one of us.
