The most important step in getting started with digital music is of course the MP3 or digital music player. Models with smaller memory (1 to 4 GB) can be as low as about $50 and can be an inexpensive way to get started. Players with larger memory can hold hundreds of albums and thousands of songs for days of listening pleasure. Designed to sync up with a personal computer, MP3 players can be loaded up with an existing CD library or individual songs can be purchased for around a buck if you don't want the whole album.
